Up North in Winter

Grandpa Ole lived up north a longtime ago when times were hard, money scarce and the winter nights very ,very cold.
Grandpa needed work and took a job in a distant town. One icy cold night he missed the last train home and had to walk twelve-miles home. The excitement of finding a fox on the way helped make an endless, cold walk a memorable story filled with a sense of family history and rural roots.
Young readers will find a short history of rural life in America.
