The Bat in the Boot

A true story of a real baby bat found in a boot – and his surprising rescue. One day, a young family finds and cares for a baby bat – feeding him and protecting him from their housecat . Late that evening they help ensure that the dramatic rescue of baby by his mother is successful. A friendship begins. Illustrations of the family assisting the bats in the shadowy darkness relieves the common eirieness of nocturnal creatures.
Young readers will delight in a story that reinforces the idea of the bonds between creatures of the wild and how people can assist other creatures in nature. The manuscript was reviewed by Bat Conservation International, a bat research and educational organization.
