2010 Canadian Environmental Network Conference Announced
Posted June 10, 2010 by LSC
The Canadian Environmental Network’s (RCEN) 2010 Conference is happening September 17‐19 in downtown Montreal. Share your experiences and join the conversation on biodiversity and the values of ecosystem services.
What’s New
The RCEN’s annual gathering is traditionally the place where environmental NGOs meet to discuss today’s most pressing environmental issues. This year, we’re opening up the conference to other sectors of the environmental community and the general public.
Public Presentations: Meet members of the RCEN’s 11 issue‐based caucuses and learn about their work: agriculture, environmental assessment, health, mining, water, youth and more.
Diversity of Perspectives: participants from ENGOs, government, industry, First Nations and youth will share their views on the values of biodiversity.
Guest Speaker: Elizabeth Dowdeswell, President of the Council of Canadian Academies, and former Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme.
Conserving Biodiversity Pays: The Values of Ecosystem Services
We all depend on biodiversity to live happy, healthy lives. In keeping with the United Nations’ International Year of Biodiversity, speakers at the 2010 conference discuss how conserving iodiversity pays—now and for the future.
For more information about speakers, programming and registration, visit the 2010 RCEN Conference website.
