Pamela Wight

Pamela Wight is inaugural Executive Director of the Edmonton and Area Land Trust, recipient of an Alberta Emerald Award for environmental excellence, and has conserved a dozen natural areas. A geographer with bio-physical and socio-economic degrees and a certificate in environmental management and planning, Pam has a strong background in conservation.

She was awarded the Edmonton Nature Club’s Edgar T. Jones Conservation Award for significant contributions to the knowledge, appreciation and conservation of nature in the Edmonton region. She worked for seven years with the provincial government, as well as in the private sector, with industry and not-for-profit and community organizations.

Pam built her own successful consultancy, working across Canada and in every global geo-region. Her clients included the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the ITC , World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Conservation International.

Pam also served on the Coordinating Committee of the Alberta Conservation Strategy, and on the board of the International Ecotourism Society.
